POSITION DESCRIPTIONÂ
 The Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and innovative Elementary ELD Teacher to fill a vacancy in the district. The program is supported by a teaching team that works collaboratively to develop and implement curriculum.          Â

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Â Must hold a valid Michigan Teacher Certificate
- TESOL Endorsement and/or ESL Certification; ELA or other endorsement preferred
- Must have experience working with ESL/ELL students and knowledge of most effective practices to support language learners
- Have knowledge of and demonstrated ability with computers and educational technology
- Must have the ability and willingness to establish relationships (face to face and online) and effectively deliver virtual instructional and activities, if applicable
- Must possess initiative and self-direction to accept and carry out a variety of assignments and tasks systematically
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with various school officials, principals, teachers, office personnel, and community members
- Must be a team member and have the ability to relate to and communicate with students
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan, design, implement, and monitor delivery of services to English Learners based on
- English language development needs and achievement data
- Provide engaging, rich, and challenging lessons/activities focused on curriculum goals and language development (face-to-face and virtual, per instructional format)
- Collaborate with staff in delivering ELL instructional services
- Provide guidance and oversight to EL para educator support team and support EL students in building
- Ensure compliance with district and state assessments, recordkeeping system, and school and state aid guidelines
- Collaborate with building and district staff in developing and accessing school program goals
- Provide support to instructional staff through collaboration, modeling, co-teaching, etc.
- Assist with district and state assessments (ie. iReady, WIDA screener and test, etc.)
- Serve as liaison between parents/families of English Learners and school
- Participate in district, county and state trainings/meetings to stay updated on current policies and best practices regarding English Learners
- Attend State & Federal Program staff meetings when requested
- Collect and analyze data to monitor and document student progress and program effectiveness
- Keep accurate records on activities with students as required by the program guidelines
- Provide recommendations for resources and materials to best meet the needs of English Learners
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Â Â Bachelor's Degree or higher preferredÂ
LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively.  Ability to apply ELA concepts to practical situations.  Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
