Language Culture Teacher Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Employment Terms: Ten (10) Months

Salary Classification: Teacher Salary's Schedule

General Statement of Responsibilities: To help students become aware of the Navajo Culture and to develop students' proficiency in the Navajo Language.

Principal Duties:

1. Works with students to help develop student's skill in the Navajo Language, (reading, writing, and conversation).
2. Works with students and helps them develop cultural
3. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times
4. Plans a program of study that; as much as possible, meets the individual needs, and interests of the Student is
5. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the
6. Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
7. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom
8. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, in harmony with the goals establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and to communicate these objectives to the students.
9. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups
10. Strives to implement by instruction and actions, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and
11. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as
12. Diagnoses the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis seeking the assistance of District specialists as
13. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and
14. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
15. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for, the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just
16. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day required or requested to do so under reasonable
17. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aids and/or volunteers and, cooperatively with department head, evaluates their job
18. Strives to maintain and improve professional
19. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as
20. Performs such other tasks and assumes responsibilities as Superintendent or the Board may

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Participate in special education conferences about the students as
2. Assist in carrying out the related services of special education as
3. Will follow student's IEP and teacher

Certification: Arizona Standard Teaching Certification, Secondary Education Certification, Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Qualifications:

• EDUCATION: Bachelor's or Master Degree in Education.
• EXPERIENCE: Successful student teaching experience

Supervision: Supervised by principal. Use own initiative and judgment. Must have experience in directing implementation of Traditional Culture programs/activities.

Responsibility: Oversee Navajo Language and Traditional facilities. Offer mentoring sessions to support the student's success. And also coordinate with the school principals, counselors, and teachers. Navajo Language are well being of the students, staff, and the community.

License: Valid Driver's License.
