Langgraph information

What is a Langgraph?

Langgraph is a framework designed to build, manage, and orchestrate complex workflows for large language models (LLMs). It allows developers to create directed graphs of language model prompts, tools, and custom logic, making it easier to design multi-step, stateful AI applications. Langgraph is especially useful for building conversational agents, automated workflows, and other applications that require LLMs to interact with data or tools in a structured way.

What are some common challenges faced by Langgraph developers when integrating their workflow with existing AI infrastructure?

Langgraph developers often encounter challenges when integrating their workflow with existing AI infrastructure, such as ensuring compatibility with various large language models and managing data flow across multiple APIs. Coordination with data engineers and machine learning specialists is crucial to align model outputs with business requirements, and adapting to rapidly evolving technologies can require continuous learning. Additionally, optimizing performance and maintaining security standards during integration are key considerations to ensure successful deployment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Langgraph engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Langgraph engineer, you need a strong background in software engineering, proficiency in Python, and a solid understanding of AI/ML concepts, usually supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like TensorFlow or PyTorch), API integrations, and version control systems such as Git is essential. Effective problem-solving, collaboration, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and resolving complex issues. These capabilities are important because they enable the development, scaling, and maintenance of robust AI-driven applications using the Langgraph platform.

What is the difference between Langgraph vs Data Analyst?

AspectLanggraphData Analyst
Required CredentialsTypically requires knowledge of language processing and graph databasesUsually requires a degree in statistics, mathematics, or related fields
Work EnvironmentTech companies, AI research labs, data-driven organizationsBusiness, finance, healthcare, and marketing sectors
Industry UsageEmerging role in AI and NLP projectsEstablished role in data interpretation and reporting

While Langgraph focuses on language processing and graph database integration, Data Analysts primarily interpret and visualize data to support business decisions. Both roles require analytical skills, but Langgraph specialists often have a background in AI and NLP, whereas Data Analysts typically hold degrees in statistics or related fields.

Job description

The Team

Are you looking for a unique opportunity with both start-up spirit AND enterprise strength? Deloitte's Converge for FSI business offers both! We are looking for a talented individual with an innovative mindset to join the Converge for FSI team in our mission to develop differentiated financial services products that achieve product-market fit. This role is focused on BankingSuite, a managed composable banking platform that helps regional, universal, and community banks launch new digital product propositions & services and transform the digital customer experience. This is a great opportunity to be on the frontlines of Deloitte's innovation & product strategy while staying close to industry/sector priorities.

Recruiting for this role ends on 09/01/2026.

Work You'll Do

We are looking for a highly skilled and client-facing Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to sit at the intersection of engineering excellence and customer partnership. In this role, you will embed directly with our most strategic clients - particularly in the financial services sector - to understand their toughest technical challenges and help them design and implement world-class solutions using our platform. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with direct influence on product direction.

You are equally comfortable whiteboarding microservices architecture with a client's principal engineer, running a hands-on technical workshop for a team of developers, and standing up a compelling proof-of-concept in days. You thrive in fast-moving, high-stakes environments and know how to earn the trust of deeply technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Technical Advisory

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for strategic client accounts, building deep relationships with architects, engineers, and technical leaders
  • Lead discovery sessions to understand client architectures, pain points, and business objectives
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Collaborate with client architects and internal engineering teams to design scalable, production-ready solutions
  • Provide authoritative guidance on microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and cloud-native deployment patterns
  • Review and advise on client system designs, identifying risks and recommending best practices

Proof of Concepts & Demos

  • Rapidly prototype and build POCs that demonstrate platform value in the context of a client's real-world use cases
  • Own and deliver polished, technically rigorous demos tailored to the client's specific technology stack and business domain
  • Maintain a library of reusable demo assets and reference implementations

Workshops & Enablement

  • Design and facilitate deep-dive technical workshops, hackathons, and onboarding bootcamps for client engineering teams
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, runbooks, and integration guides
  • Accelerate client time-to-value by enabling their teams to build confidently and independently

Feedback & Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the voice of the customer - surface product gaps, integration friction, and feature requests to internal product and engineering teams
  • Partner with Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Product to shape the technical go-to-market strategy

The successful candidate will possess

Core Technical Skills

  • Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including building production-grade microservices
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture - Kafka, event sourcing, CQRS, async messaging patterns
  • Hands-on experience with microservices design principles: service decomposition, API design, resiliency patterns, observability
  • Proficiency across multi-cloud environments, with AWS as a primary platform; working knowledge of Azure and GCP
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

Emerging Technology

  • Exposure to Agentic AI frameworks and tooling - including LangGraph, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworks
  • Practical understanding of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, and AI-powered application design
  • Interest in staying current with the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape and translating it into client-relevant use cases

Soft Skills & Presence

  • Exceptional communicator - able to lead technical conversations with senior engineers and C-suite stakeholders alike
  • Strong facilitation skills for running workshops, design reviews, and working sessions
  • Self-directed, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Natural curiosity and a bias for building - you'd rather spin up a demo than write a slide about one

 Additional Key Experience

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
  • Contributions to open-source projects or public technical content (talks, blogs, repos)
  • Prior experience in a startup or high-growth SaaS environment
  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional, etc.)

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time spent in client-facing, solutions engineering, or field engineering roles; background in financial services (banking, capital markets, payments, insurance, or fintech) strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent field; Advanced Degree is a plus - equivalent work experience may act as a substitute for degree requirements
  • Ability to travel 20-30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $134,500-$266,100.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
