About the role
Kilter Rooftop at Recess Hotel & Club is seeking dependable, energetic, and hospitality-driven Barbacks to join our team. Designed exclusively for hotel guests and club members, Kilter offers elevated dining, craft cocktails, and memorable experiences in a lively rooftop setting. As a key member of the bar team, the Barback plays an essential role in supporting daily operations and ensuring bartenders have the tools, products, and supplies needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in staying organized, and enjoys working behind the scenes to contribute to a seamless and efficient operation. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their hospitality career while learning the fundamentals of beverage service and bar operations.
What you'll do
  • Support bartenders throughout service by stocking beer, wine, spirits, mixers, glassware, ice, and supplies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the bar, storage, and service areas
  • Replenish ice, garnishes, syrups, and other bar ingredients as needed during service
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing inventory deliveries
  • Collect and wash glassware, bar tools, and service equipment while maintaining sanitation standards
  • Remove trash, recycling, and empty boxes from service areas as needed
  • Prepare garnishes and assist with beverage preparation tasks according to established standards
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to leadership
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties
  • Collaborate with bartenders, servers, food runners, culinary team members, and leadership to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
  • Support a welcoming and professional environment for hotel guests, club members, and team members
  • Assist with rooftop events, member programming, and high-volume service periods as needed

Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant, bar, hotel, club, or hospitality experience preferred
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to support the team wherever needed
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
