Description:

The DTK Landscaping Crew Driver is responsible for performing any and all commercial landscaping duties. Consistent, quality landscaping service and efficiency are performed on a daily basis. Landscaping crew will work together as a team to complete all tasks to the account manager’s expectations. Driver will transport crews safely to job sites while driving a truck and trailer. DTK values our drivers and will compensate them appropriately.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Safely drives a truck and trailer on a daily basis
  • Adheres to company safety regulations
  • Has a clear understanding of landscaping equipment and their uses
  • Safely operates a zero-turn mower and essential landscaping equipment
  • Monitors and maintains equipment in working order
  • Performs hand weeding and clean-up of beds
  • Performs regular mowing, blowing, line trimming, edging and debris removal
  • Inspects equipment to ensure it is in working order
  • Leaves property clean and tidy when maintenance/installations are complete
  • Installs landscaping materials including plants, flowers, mulch, hardscaping, etc.
  • Follows instructions from foreman and landscaping account manager to ensure quality landscaping services are provided for customers
  • Attends mandatory meetings to review safety and learn best horticultural practices
  • Reports any malfunctions of equipment to foreman or landscaping account manager immediately
  • Picks up and delivers landscaping materials in a timely manner
  • Clocks in at arrival of job site and clocks out at each job site immediately after completing tasks
  • Communicates landscaping issues clearly with foreman immediately
Requirements:

License or Certification

  • Driver’s license required

Preferred Experience

  • At least one year of commercial or residential landscaping experience

Specialized Skills

  • Sense of urgency to complete a job in a timely manner
  • Multi-task and manage more than one job at a time
  • Ability to work alone and manage time efficiently
  • Open to learning new landscaping skills and best horticultural practices
  • Good communications skills
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Dependable and reliable attendance for daily assignments
  • Works together with landscaping crew and jumps in to help where needed

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Most work will be done in an outside setting in all seasons of the year
  • Regularly work with mechanical objects
  • Frequent 8 –10-hour work days
  • Must be able to safely operate landscaping equipment and hand tools
  • Must be able to safely observe surroundings, equipment and work hazards, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, reach, climb and balance
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
