Landscaper / Irrigation Assistant – Johns Island, SC

Company overview

We are a locally owned landscaping and property maintenance company serving Johns Island and the greater Charleston area, focusing on reliable, high‐quality lawn and landscape care for residential and commercial properties.

Position details

  • Location: Johns Island, South Carolina
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pay range: 15–25 per hour based on experience and certifications
  • Employment type: Full-time/ Part-time available

The higher end of the pay range is reserved for candidates with experience in irrigation repair/installation and lawn chemical applications (fertilizer, weed control, etc.).

Job responsibilities

  • Perform general landscape maintenance: mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, and clean‐up on residential and commercial properties.
  • Assist with planting, mulching, pruning shrubs and small trees, and seasonal clean‐ups.jobs.
  • Operate common landscape equipment and tools (mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe jobsite and follow company safety procedures at all times.
  • Follow daily instructions from the crew leader/owner and complete assigned routes on schedule.

If you have irrigation and chemical experience, duties may also include:

  • Basic troubleshooting and repair of irrigation systems (heads, valves, leaks, controllers).
  • Assisting with installation or modifications of irrigation zones.
  • Mixing and applying lawn chemicals (fertilizer, herbicides, etc.) in accordance with labels and company policy.

Requirements

  • Previous landscaping or grounds maintenance experience preferred but not required for entry‐level pay.
  • Experience with irrigation and/or chemical applications is strongly preferred and will be compensated at the higher pay range.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop/job sites each day.
  • Ability to work outdoors in South Carolina heat and humidity and perform physical labor (lifting, bending, walking) throughout the day.
  • Ability to arrive on time, follow directions, and work as part of a crew.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are a plus.
