Job description

The Kleingers Group is looking for a licensed Professional Surveyor to serve as a Project Manager in our Westerville office. This position is responsible for leading and managing a team’s production of projects, within budget and schedule, while utilizing applicable technology and adhering to defined professional standards, as well as company policies and procedures. This role is responsible for overseeing survey work done on a day-to-day basis and the quality of the final product. This role will typically work on several concurrent projects and will act as the principal communication link between the firm, the client, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, technical, day-to-day support, guidance, and input to project team members as appropriate.
  • Responsible for keeping team fully engaged with focus on retention of successful employees.
  • Stay in touch with legislative, technical, and professional topics that affect the survey group.
  • Regularly and effectively communicate with Department Director.
  • Conduct and oversee project planning and analysis.
  • Serve as primary client contact as needed.
  • Assist Director in Business Development efforts by helping to participate in presentations, interviews, or other activities to showcase technical expertise which could include participation in appropriate organizations or networking events.
  • Promote other internal service lines to existing and potential clients including engineering design, landscaping design, and roadway/transportation design.
  • Review, sign and seal any survey plats or reports prepared in accordance with law.
  • Responsible for QA/QC of all teams work product.
  • Meet or exceed financial and performance metrics.
  • Provide recommendations to improve the production process, as needed.
  • Write proposals for survey related projects
  • Able to assign projects and oversee those assigned for accuracy of work, timeliness of completion, and accurate and timely time entry.
  • Able to teach and explain to others the methodologies used.

Qualifications:

  • Current Ohio Professional Survey License is required
  • Minimum 5 consecutive years surveying experience including 2 years successfully leading production and coordinating technical activities
  • Ability to identify and solve complex survey problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
