Job description

Summary:
This position reports to the Operations Manager and provides supervision and guidance of house crews during set-up, breakdown, changes, and housekeeping for all events. This position is 1st shift from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, weekdays. Weekends 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs and oversees housekeeping and event/room setup of team members engaged in the cleaning, setup, and breakdown of events within facility.
  • Follow and track the preventive housekeeping and maintenance measures for non-mechanical aspects of the facility.
  • Practice and enforce a safe and healthy working environment by enacting Legends Global policies including VenueShield and other third-party certifications as guided by management. Strictly practice any and all guidelines issued by governmental agencies and report those who fail to adhere to expectations.
  • Anticipate problems and provide appropriate solutions, keep the operations management team informed.
  • Assure facility readiness and smooth operations of events for first class customer service.
  • Works collaboratively with internal and external partners on the efficient execution of department responsibilities without impeding or delaying the work of others.
  • Utilize multiple computerized task management systems and ensure completion of assigned work.
  • Enforce employee dress code and grooming standards.
  • Coach team members in a manner that yields continual productivity and promote an engaging work environment.
  • Gain an intermediate understanding of union guidelines and how to work efficiently within them.
  • Inspect completed work for compliance, company standards and client needs.
  • Understand and embrace the Green/Sustainability Initiatives; promote adherence through following expectations and coaching of operations department team members and colleagues.
  • Complete maintenance forms for repairs, damages, and preventive maintenance for equipment and facility.
  • Perform various landscaping and on-site snow removal functions and duties.
  • Follows and enforces company policies for team members ensuring utmost safety regulations; including the proper use of all chemicals by Housekeeping team members in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Adhere to all Legends Global Safety Policies and Procedures while performing within all OSHA guidelines.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or special assignments/projects as assigned.
  • Respond to visual and audible alarms from building automation and life safety systems. Make immediate decisions and communicate with all users of the facility in an emergency situation.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • Position requires the ability to work at all Legends Global facilities in Wichita and Andover.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise the Operations Team. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills Required:
  • Ability to write routine reports and required correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form required.
  • Ability to prioritize in time sensitive situations, and meet deadlines.
  • Hands on experience with maintenance procedures, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Knowledge of work place safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Microsoft Office software, event software and payroll software.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power driven equipment.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in, business, sport, hospitality management or relevant field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years leadership or supervisory experience in a facility, preferably in hospitality or related industry.
  • Maintain a valid drivers' license or have willingness and ability to obtain for required equipment operation.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Willingness to work any shift or as needed (irregular hours).

Work hours are based on business needs but include irregular, extended hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
