Job description

Theย Landscape Healthย and Waterย Manager is primarily responsible for managing the overall plant wellness on assigned sites and plays a crucial role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal, health, and sustainability of our landscapeย through the proper management of the irrigation system.ย This includes irrigationย monitoringย to ensure all plants receive the ideal amounts of water for plant type and seasonality.ย  During site audits, theย Landscape Health and Water Manager will look for struggling plants and adjust run times and make coverage change recommendations to improve plant health.ย  In addition, this role will support branch operations by communicating with Account Managers and Repair Technicians on issues found and property enhancement ideas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture, a passion for plant care, and the ability to conduct comprehensive site audits.ย ย Ultimately, thisย roleย is responsible forย ensuringย all plants are healthy and thriving.ย  This includes all establishedย material, annual flowers, and newly installed landscapes.ย  Understanding plant establishment and the necessary care forย newย installed plants is needed.ย ย This individual will report to the Branch Manager.ย 

Supervisory Responsibilities:ย 

This roleย doesnโ€™tย have any direct reports.ย ย 

Duties/Responsibilities:ย 

  • Performย irrigation andย landscape audits regularly to ensure the landscape plants are healthy and aesthetically appealingย ย 

  • Monitor and manage pest and disease issues using IPM (Integrated Pest Management) strategies to ensure the overall health and vitality of plants.ย ย Includingย soil improvement recommendations.ย 

  • Identifyย and diagnose diseases affecting turf and ornamental plantsย 

  • Propose and implement effective solutions to address plant health issuesย in a timely mannerย 

  • Communicate findings and generate proposals from site audits with improvement or repair recommendations for Account Managers to send to customers.ย 

  • Take ownership of all aspects ofย water management inย theย landscapeย 

  • Performย additionalย tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager to support team objectivesย 

Education and Experience:ย ย 

  • Degree in horticulture, plant science, or a related field; extensive industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.ย 

  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience and/or coursework in horticulture or landscape managementย ย 

  • Strong interpersonalย skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines simultaneouslyย 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsย 

  • Excellent attention to detailย 

  • Ability to solve a variety of problems independentlyย 

  • Proficiencyย in industry-specific software and tools.ย 

  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations relevant to plant healthcare and safety practices.ย 

  • Self-starter, highly motivated and committedย 

  • Valid Driverโ€™s License with approved driving recordย 

Physical Requirements:ย 

  • Ability to handle, control, and feel various objects, tools, and controls with hands.ย 

  • Maintain a standing position for extended periods;ย walkย large areas to perform inspections and treatments.ย 

  • Perform repetitive movements with accuracy and precision.ย 

  • Bend, twist, or reach as necessary to complete tasks.ย 

  • Lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50ย lbsย asย required.ย 

  • Work primarily outdoors in varying environmental conditions.ย

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:ย 

This is a full-time, on-site role with responsibilities across multiple client locations.ย General hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though flexibility and some overtime, evening, or weekend work may beย required. Occasional daytime travel may be necessary.ย
