Your Future Role:

A landscape maintenance teammate works on a team that maintains our customers' landscapes.  This is a physically active role that allows you to work outside year round.  This position works on both commercial and residential properties on a team with 3 to 4 people.  A  landscape maintenance teammate assists the maintenance team by mowing & edging grass, pruning plants, removing weeds and debris, fertilizing, maintaining irrigation systems, completing fall & spring clean-ups and more keeping our properties looking their best.  The landscape maintenance teammate works with the foreman and other teammates on his crew each day as they ensure a safe and efficient operations and a well maintained property.  This position is responsible for completing most activities activities including enhancements and snow removal. 


Your Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Upholds Moana Nursery's strict safety policies
  • Works with project manager and foreman to develop maintenance plans that continuously improve the property
  • Maintains efficient irrigation system (backflow devices, irrigation controllers, valves, sprinklers, drip tubing, etc.)
  • Completes irrigation repairs (including digging holes)
  • Aerates, dethatches, mows and edges grass
  • Prunes trees, shrubs, & perennials
  • Plants trees, shrubs, perennials and grass
  • Applies fertilizer, pre-emergent and post emergent solutions for growth and weed control
  • Removes weeds, garbage and landscape debris
  • Maintains low voltage landscape lighting
  • Operates equipment such as lawn mowers, edges, trimmers, snowblowers, snow plows
  • Ensures equipment & vehicles are working properly
  • Participates in snow removal activities during winter months (includes additional pay)
  • Ensures quality of completed work meets Moana Nursery standards
  • Communicates with other teammates and foreman daily
  • Provides outstanding customer service
  • Ensures customer properties thrive in our region

Physical Requirements & Activity:

  • This position works outside 12 months a year in all conditions
  • Applicant must be able to lift 75 lbs
  • Applicant must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Applicant must be able to work on their knees.

Expertise & Experience Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Have Skills or Experiences:

  • Valid NV Driver's License (we pay more if you can drive)
  • Landscape Experience qualifies for higher pay
  • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish

Your Future Work Schedule:

Our landscape teams typically work Monday through Friday from 6am to 2:30pm with occasional overtime and weekend work.  During fall and winter months our team hours are 7am to 3:30pm with occasional overtime and weekend work.
