SEASONAL PARKS LABORER CLOSING DATE: Open until FilledPAY RATE: $14.21 - $17.05 (depending on experience)SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday OR Friday - Sunday Hours range from 6 am to 4:30 pm (Schedule to be determined at interview.)DEPARTMENT: Parks JOB SUMMARYPerforms a variety of duties related to the maintenance of:Park Grounds Sports Fields Irrigation Systems TrailsOpen spaceUrban ForestryMaintaining and cleaning restrooms and pavilionsHelping with Events (includes some weekends) RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Experience preferred in caring for grounds with a wide range of skills.Including, but not limited to, general landscaping and irrigation work.Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.Ability to communicate.Ability to learn to operate and maintain maintenance equipment such as mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools.Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and the public.Must pass a background and drug test. Must be 16 years old or older (Preference will be given to applicants 18 and older with a valid driver's license).Employment in this position is conditional upon passing a pre-employment background and drug test.
