What is a landscape helper?

Landscape helpers assist landscapers and groundskeepers with tasks such as planting, mowing, trimming, watering, and maintaining outdoor areas. They may also help with installing sod, spreading mulch, moving materials, and cleaning up job sites. This role typically involves physical labor outdoors and can be seasonal, depending on the region. Landscape helpers often work for landscaping companies, golf courses, or property maintenance firms.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a landscape helper?

To thrive as a Landscape Helper, you generally need basic knowledge of landscaping techniques, physical stamina, and familiarity with gardening tools or equipment, often obtained through on-the-job training rather than formal education. Experience with power tools, lawnmowers, trimmers, and possibly pesticide application systems is typically required. These skills and qualities ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality landscape maintenance that meets client expectations.

To overcome these, it's helpful to ask questions, seek guidance from experienced team members, and take advantage of any on-the-job training offered.
