Job description

Intern, Landscape Architecture
Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Planning and Landscape Architecture team in our Houston, TX office. The Intern will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of planners, engineers, landscape architects, and other support experts on a wide variety of planning efforts with public and private entities ranging from comprehensive plan preparation; mobility, park, recreation, and trails planning; active transportation planning; downtown and corridor planning; and urban design efforts. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027. Please apply and upload a copy of your resume to be considered for all openings with Halff.
Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.

What you will do:
  • Support of senior staff projects, public engagement, plan development, report writing and document production, and assisting with the preparation of computer-generated maps and graphic elements needed to convey the ideas generated in each planning effort.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment to help client communities proactively plan and design for their future.

What you need:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in community/urban planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or a closely related field
  • Great communication skills
  • Solid relationship and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills
  • Previous knowledge or interest in learning of computer programs (ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, and Microsoft Office programs) and the ability to produce attractive maps, infographics, and documents
