Position Overview

Summary:  The Davey Resource Group Landscape Architecture Studio is looking for a motivated and creative Landscape Designer based in the Northeast Ohio region.  The successful candidate should possess strong technical skills and be willing to engage with cross-disciplinary staff. Current work includes a healthy mixture of various size public and private projects from initial due diligence, zoning related efforts, and preliminary development to final development plan submittals. Additional projects include community recreation areas, streetscapes, urban forestry initiatives and public/private partnerships from conceptual schematic design through to construction document plans and construction observation.

Job Duties

Job Description: Assist with DRG’s Landscape Architecture projects across the midwestern region and U.S..  The Landscape Designer will work with a Northeast Ohio based Landscape Architect to assist in the planning, design, and development of commercial landscape plans specific to client needs.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of the design process and a graphic portfolio of related project experience. The ideal candidate should be willing to work in an open, multidisciplinary team environment and be passionate about landscape design.

Responsibilities: The Landscape Designer is directly responsible for designing, selling, maintaining and adding to a customer base within a set landscape territory. Success will be achieved by having a clear understanding and knowledge of each customer’s expectations and delivering on those. Responsibilities will include preparation of necessary documents for regulatory approvals and through the public engagement process.  Very strong relationship building and customer service skills are a necessity in this position.

Qualifications
  • Experience in landscape design and sales
  • Degree in landscape design, landscape architecture, horticulture or related experience in outdoor design
  • Demonstrate and follow company values; integrity, safety, expertise, improvement, leadership and resolve
  • Ability to conduct site visits, gather site plans, surveys and conduct meetings with clients individually or as a team
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a high paced environment
  • Customer service experience-able to identify and resolve customer concerns effectively
  • Experience with hand drawn designs and/or computer aided drafting
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours at home office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High proficiency in English (writing and speaking) is required.
  • Working knowledge of computers, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Microsoft and Google Suite programs.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
