Role Description The Landscape Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This role involves developing landscape concepts and detailed plans, including layout, grading, planting, and hardscape elements for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients to understand project goals, preparing design drawings and renderings, selecting appropriate plant materials and hardscape products, and coordinating with installation crews to ensure designs are implemented accurately. The Landscape Designer will also estimate project costs, prepare proposals, and assist with revisions based on client feedback and site conditions. Collaboration with project managers, field teams, and suppliers is essential to deliver high-quality, sustainable outdoor environments that align with company standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Landscape Design and Landscape Architecture for creating functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Hardscape design, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and outdoor living features.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Planting Plans and Landscaping, including plant selection, layout, and maintenance considerations.
  • Experience with design software (e.g., CAD, SketchUp, or similar) and the ability to produce clear drawings and presentations is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of local climate, soils, and plant materials in the Houston, TX area is preferred.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with field crews and project stakeholders.
  • Relevant education in landscape design, landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work on-site, manage multiple projects, and adapt designs based on site conditions and client feedback.
