Landscape Crew Leader - Maintenance

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Landscape Crew Leader - Maintenance to lead landscape maintenance crews on commercial properties. This role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations, ensuring quality service, maintaining safety standards, and supporting crew productivity. The Crew Leader works alongside the team performing landscape maintenance tasks while providing direction, training, and communication in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a landscape maintenance crew on commercial properties 
  • Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, blowing, fertilizing, and general clean-up 
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company quality standards 
  • Operate hand tools, power equipment, and company vehicles safely and properly 
  • Train and guide crew members on proper landscape maintenance techniques and safety procedures 
  • Conduct daily jobsite preparation, equipment checks, and vehicle organization 
  • Monitor job quality and communicate any customer concerns, property issues, or equipment problems to management 
  • Assist with scheduling priorities and ensuring crews stay productive throughout the day 
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments across commercial and public sites 
  • Load and unload equipment, tools, and materials as needed 
  • Ensure all required PPE is worn and safety protocols are followed at all times 
  • Complete basic field documentation, timekeeping, or reports as required 

Required:

  • Prior landscape maintenance experience 
  • Experience leading or supervising a crew preferred 
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred 
  • Ability to lift/move 10-50 lbs. and perform physical outdoor work daily 
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions 
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance 
  • Strong communication and leadership skills 

Preferred:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful 
  • Experience operating commercial landscape equipment and tools 
  • Knowledge of irrigation troubleshooting and basic landscape care practices 
  • Flexible availability for various schedules, including occasional weekends 

Work Environment

  • Outdoor work in commercial and public settings 
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, steep terrain, and high-traffic areas 
  • Physical work involving walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and operating equipment
