This position is located in Seasonal Staffing Office-Yosemite National Park and is responsible for the identification, research, planning, treatment, and preservation maintenance of cultural landscapes.

To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.

In order to qualify for this position you must possess both the Basic Requirement and Specialized Qualification.
Basic Requirement: Landscape Architect-0807
Education: A degree in landscape architecture or landscape design.
- OR -
Combination of Education and Experience: For each year short of graduation, one year of experience under professional leadership and guidance of such character and diversity as to be a satisfactory substitute for the required education. This experience must have included original landscape design.
- AND -
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes assisting in the identification, research, planning, treatment, and preservation maintenance of conventional historic landscapes; identifying threats and needs and conducting on-site investigations of project sites to determine the feasibility of proposed projects including the development of design alternatives and subsequent analysis to ensure the project is consistent with policies, guidelines, standards and environmental and cultural compliance laws and regulations to include the National Historic Preservation Act, and conducting and coordinating cultural landscape research projects related to the identification, documentation, analysis, evaluation, and preservation treatment of cultural landscapes.

Education: Successful completion of at least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. You must include transcripts

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify. For example, 3 months of experience would be 25% of the required 12 months. 45 semester hours of graduate education out of the required 54, would meet 50% of the 18 semester hours beyond what's required of the GS-09 grade level. You must include transcripts.
