Job Description: Equipment Transport / Landoll Driver

Location: Central Iowa (bases in Ames or Des Moines, Iowa)

As a family-oriented business, we take pride in maintaining a team-focused environment while delivering professional transportation and recovery services throughout the region. Due to continued growth and increased customer demand, we are expanding our team and looking for experienced and motivated Equipment Transport / Landoll Drivers.

Position Overview:

As an Equipment Transport / Landoll Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting a wide variety of equipment, vehicles, and machinery throughout Central Iowa and surrounding areas. This position primarily involves operating Landoll trailers and heavy-duty transport equipment to move construction equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, agricultural equipment, containers, and specialty vehicles.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to professionally represent our company while working with customers, contractors, dealerships, and municipalities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate Landoll trailers and heavy-duty transport trucks.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, chains, binders, straps, and securement equipment.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with DOT regulations.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, contractors, and coworkers.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, inspection reports, and transport documentation.
  • Operate equipment safely in various weather and jobsite conditions.
  • Assist with light recovery or towing operations when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance of trucks and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Previous experience hauling heavy equipment or operating Landoll trailers preferred.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and cargo securement requirements.
  • Strong understanding of equipment loading and weight distribution.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Clean driving record preferred.
  • Physical ability to climb, bend, lift chains/straps, and perform manual labor as needed.
