Senior Civil EngineerPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil engineering projects and oversee a team of project managers and engineers. This role is responsible for managing the planning, design, and execution of land development and infrastructure projects while ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management experience, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and successfully deliver projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of civil engineering project managers and technical staff.
Oversee the planning, design, and execution of standalone land development and civil infrastructure projects.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Prepare and review site development plans using Civil 3D and related engineering software.
Manage construction-phase activities, including site inspections, quality control, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, surveyors, hydraulic specialists, and other consultants to develop comprehensive project solutions.
Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, project documentation, and client deliverables.
Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation while maintaining high-quality standards.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project managers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience managing civil engineering and land development projects.
Strong proficiency with Civil 3D, Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, and related design software.
Experience with construction inspection, construction administration, and project management.
Working knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, land surveying, and site development practices.
Strong project scheduling, estimating, technical writing, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
