We are seeking a talented and motivated Land Development Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team and support a variety of commercial, industrial, and site development projects.

Responsibilities

The Land Development Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in the planning, design, permitting, and execution of land development projects. This position combines technical engineering expertise with project management responsibilities, including overseeing design efforts, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, mentoring junior staff, and managing project schedules and budgets.

The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with strong civil engineering design experience, a thorough understanding of land development processes, and the ability to lead projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and oversee construction documents, engineering reports, technical specifications, and design calculations for land development projects.
  • Lead the design and preparation of:
    • Site layout plans
    • Grading and drainage plans
    • Utility infrastructure plans
    • Erosion and sediment control plans
    • Stormwater management systems
  • Develop civil site design plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to support project designs.
  • Lead permitting efforts and coordinate approvals with local, state, and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, consultants, and jurisdictional authorities throughout project development.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of plans, calculations, and technical documents.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, fee estimates, bidding processes, and contract administration.
  • Conduct site visits and provide construction-phase services, including monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with design intent.
  • Review and inspect erosion control measures and provide field support during construction.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a variety of public and private sector projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of land development experience.
  • Ability to independently produce and manage a complete set of construction drawings.
  • Experience working directly with clients and regulatory agencies throughout the permitting process.
  • Strong understanding of zoning regulations, development ordinances, and site development requirements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months of hire.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D a plus
