Position Summary
The National Head Coach, Boys Lacrosse will be the visionary and driving force behind one of the nation's premier lacrosse programs. In this role, you'll do more than coach - you'll build something extraordinary. Working closely with the Director of Lacrosse, you'll shape the future of the program by designing and leading a unified vision that integrates on-field player development, competitive excellence, character growth, and student-athlete wellness across all levels of boys programming.
This is a great opportunity to lead from the front-elevating talent, defining new standards, aligning staff around bold vision, and creating a culture of excellence that resonates from the field to the classroom and beyond. As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for setting the standard and ensuring the program operates as one cohesive, elite system under your leadership.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a world-class national team program with a clear vision, unified culture, and elite performance standards.
  • Design and implement progressive training plans that promote individual skill growth, tactical sophistication, and team synergy.
  • Mentor and manage assistant coaches and support staff to ensure alignment, leadership development, and consistency across the program.
  • Recruit and cultivate top-tier student-athletes who embody the values and potential to succeed at IMG Academy and beyond.
  • Champion the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes through collaboration with academic services, wellness teams, and performance departments.
  • Coordinate with strength & conditioning, mental training, nutrition, and sports medicine staff to maximize athlete performance and well-being.
  • Lead operational planning, including scheduling, travel logistics, equipment management, and budget oversight with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined team environment rooted in respect, accountability, character, and unity.
  • Serve as the public face of the program through social media, community engagement, and recruiting outreach.
  • Represent the program positively with parents, prospective families, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment with IMG Academy policies, safety protocols, and performance standards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Deep knowledge of boys lacrosse fundamentals, position-specific development, and advanced tactical strategies, with a strong grasp of modern trends, scouting, and video analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching at the high school, collegiate, or professional level, with a track record of competitive success and program growth.
  • Skilled in designing and leading structured, progressive training systems that align with elite performance standards and long-term athlete development.
  • Committed to holistic development, supporting student-athletes in building character, accountability, and academic success.
  • Strong ability to identify, evaluate, and recruit high-potential lacrosse talent nationally and internationally, with working knowledge of NCAA regulations and collegiate/professional pathways.
  • Familiarity with sport science and integrated support systems, including strength & conditioning, nutrition, mental training, and athletic medicine.
  • An effective mentor and team builder who fosters alignment and communication across coaching staff, support personnel, and performance departments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to engaging players, families, alumni, and the broader lacrosse community.
  • Confident and articulate communicator, capable of inspiring athletes, engaging families, and representing the program and brand with professionalism.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage scheduling, logistics, and team operations efficiently.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g. physical education or sports management) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Coaching certifications or licenses preferred.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays as required.
