You will play a critical role in sustaining combat ready weapon systems and advanced radar capabilities, ensuring that our customers receive reliable, high performance equipment that supports national security objectives.
The Work
The Engineering Technician provides hands on support for combat and weapon system equipment, focusing on radar signal processors and phased array antennas. This position works closely with system engineers and test teams, contributing technical expertise to maintenance, troubleshooting, and test event execution.
Your work directly enhances system availability and performance, aligning with LockheedMartin's strategic goal of delivering mission critical solutions to our customers.
Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
Respond to combat and weapon system equipment casualties, troubleshoot issues, identify failed modules, and repair by replacing components.
Operate special and general purpose test equipment, optical aids, and tools to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
Utilize advanced electronic test equipment-including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and power meters-to conduct diagnostics and performance evaluations.
Test Support & Co:
Assist system engineers by applying practical technical knowledge to assigned equipment; develop test software scripts using Linux, LabVIEW, Visual Basic, and related tools.
Support test events through hardware and software configuration, fault insertion, and performance evaluation; direct personnel as needed to ensure successful execution.
Documentation & Coordination:
Document maintenance actions with electronic tools and perform upgrades per configuration management directives.
Coordinate with subject matter experts, engineering agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve maintenance requirements, fault investigations, and technical inquiries.
The role demands a self starter attitude, adaptability to evolving technology, and strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively both individually and collaboratively. Experience with Linux/RedHat environments and Navy program/contract management (PM/CM) is highly valued.
