Job Summary
Work with various groups (Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Service, Engineering, and Quality) to define the test requirements, and then design, develop, and implement Test hardware and software solutions to meet those requirements, for qualification, production, and service purposes.
Essential Functions
  • Design simple to complex test systems and architectures to meet test requirements.
  • Review and/or develop manufacturing test techniques (including AOI, X-ray, ICT, Boundary Scan, Functional Test, and ESS Test) as-required at the PCB, sub-assembly, and system level.
  • Develop high-coverage tests for analog and digital circuits, custom electrical components, and complete systems.
  • Design and procure test fixtures and equipment with emphasis on reliability, cost justification, and mistake-proofing.
  • Perform qualification of test fixtures and test equipment to ensure test systems are capable of providing accurate and reliable test results.
  • Perform cross-functional DFT reviews at the component, board, and system levels.
  • Act as the manufacturing test liaison to the engineering development and supplier quality teams.
  • Work in a team environment to provide manufacturing test input to process flow diagrams, process FMECAs, process characterizations, and process validation protocols and reports.
  • Coordinate with internal production and satellite facilities to setup test stations, fixtures, methods, and train applicable personnel.
  • Develop and review documentation, including schematics, assembly drawings, bill of materials, change orders, and SOP's in an ISO-9001/FDA GMP design and document control environment.
  • Define and document calibration and maintenance requirements of test fixtures and equipment.
  • Perform duties independently as a self-directed worker, with minimal supervision.
  • Work on and/or lead multiple projects and project teams to achieve project goals on-time.
  • Work with, and clearly communicate technical information to, a wide audience, ranging from end-user to upper management.
  • Travel as required to achieve project goals. This could be domestic and/or international travel, and typically is 10% or less.
  • Assist in the performance feedback, technical guidance, and mentoring of junior engineers and technicians.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering or related focus required
  • 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in Test Engineering
    required
  • Experience in creating Test Hardware and Software architectures to solve test problems required
  • Experience with LabView programming, in controlling test instrumentation
    required
  • Experience with utilizing Test Equipment/Instrumentation Hardware
    required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, applicable test/development tools and associated technologies
    required
  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or service environment is preferred.
  • Advanced LabView training and programming is a plus.
  • Experience with other programming/scripting languages (C++, Python, Perl, Bash, VB) is a plus.
  • Experience with designing Test Executive GUI software is a plus
  • Experience/understanding of PLD, PIC, Flash and EPROM programming is a plus.
  • Experience in PCB CAD design (Altium or similar PCB design software) is a plus.
  • Experience with 2D/3D modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is a plus.
  • Experience with Boundary Scan (JTAG) testing is a plus.
  • Experience with ESS (Thermal/Vibration) testing is a plus.
  • Experience with Linux operating system is a plus.

The annual salary for this position is:
$100,000.00 to $135,000.00
