Overview:
Job Title: Electrical Technician
Location: Madison, WI
Job Type: Contract
Description:
• Build electrical systems and test electrical systems and components for functionality, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards in all work activities.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to ensure proper coordination of electrical work.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP).
• Provide technical support and guidance to other staff.
• Experience utilizing modern electrical test equipment: (IE: oscilloscope, multi-meter)
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards.
• Estimate material and labor needed to complete electrical projects and repairs.
• Support and test mechanical, electrical and/or software designs.
• Create tools, test equipment and their specifications, as needed.
• Preferred Skills in the following areas:
o Wiring harness assembly and troubleshooting
o Soldering
o AutoCAD Electrical
o Ability to follow electrical diagrams
o Experience fabricating electro-mechanical test systems
o Familiarity with LabView
o Familiarity with Windows based test systems
