Job description

Summary
CHS Inc. is looking for an Union Operations Specialist to join our team in Winona! This individual will help operate machinery to load and unload barges, trains, trucks, and move product. This is a M-F, daytime position, the typical schedule is 7am- 3pm. There are overtime opportunities throughout the year.
Compensation Data
Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
This is a union role. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement
Responsibilities
  • Conduct general labor duties throughout the plant, including material handling, general cleanup duties, and machine operation.
  • Clean assigned areas: includes sweeping, shoveling, power washing and scraping. Clean up materials spills.
  • Prepare trucks and tank cars for loading, attach and/or detach flexible loading hoses.
  • Assist department(s) where assigned, may include working shift work as needed.
  • Perform general labor duties throughout the plant, including, general cleanup duties such as sweeping, shoveling, power washing, painting and scraping.
  • Keep all work areas in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal and the cleanup of material spills.
  • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly maintenance tasks including but not limited to lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
  • Inspect in-use equipment looking for seeps and leaks of process equipment.
  • Assist others in preparation to unload trucks and railcars which may require sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching and/or detaching flexible hoses.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

  • Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. If required, selected candidates must pass pre-employment screenings to include all or a combination of drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
