Job description

Analytical Laboratory Technician

The Analytical Lab Technician performs routine chemical and laboratory analytical tasks in support of production quality and safety at Redwood Materials facilities. Working under supervision for all assigned tasks, this role is responsible for executing established laboratory procedures per written SOPs and TCMs, accurate sample handling and data entry, basic instrument operation, and adherence to all chemical safety and documentation standards. This role develops foundational proficiency in analytical methods, laboratory information systems, and lab safety while building toward independent operation.  

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Prepares samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.  
  • Assists with and performs routine chemical, metrological, and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.  
  • Maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including troubleshooting and performing verifications.  
  • Works in a production environment, sampling and testing physical characteristics.  
  • Performs additional duties as required, including lab organization, inventory, safety audits, and special projects.  
  • Works effectively in both team and individual environments. 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree inscienceor related fieldor2+ years ofrelated experience. 
  • Experience in laboratory settings, quality settings, or chemical production facilities. 
  • Experience in typical laboratory practices including waste handling, safe work practices, dataentry andmanagement,gooddocumentation practicesand experimental setup and execution. 
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to lab coatsand respirators. 
  • Experience with relevant test methods such as ICP-OES, auto-titration, X-Ray Fluorescence,Total Organic Carbon, etc. 
  • Experience with sample prep and analysis, chemicalhandlingand laboratory hazards. 
  • Demonstrates ability to performbasicchemistrymath andcalculations. 
  • Adept with data acquisition and analysis tools including Laboratory Information Management Systems andMicrosoft Office. 
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent attitude:understands priorities change with company needs and willing to work to ensure deadlines are met.Ability toexecute with acalm and collaborative urgency. 
  • Abilityto regularlylift35lbs. 
  • Use of a step ladder 
  • Sit and or stand forlong periodsof time, greater than 2hours
