Job description

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for oversight, supervision, and administration of all STHS System Laboratories and laboratory activities in accordance with established hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.  Oversees and supervises the staff associated with this organization.  Responsible for ensuring that the System Laboratories comply with all accrediting agency requirements.  Develops and maintains strategic, financial, and marketing plans for the Laboratory.  Directs allocation of resources, oversees laboratory billing and procurement of revenue.  Sets up contracts with other laboratories and will provide oversight of the 7 free standing emergency departments.  This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.     Registered MT such as MT(ASCP) with at least 5 years of Clinical Laboratory supervisory experience.

2.     Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

1.     Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related science.

2.     Registered Medical Technologist, Certified by National registry such as MT(ASCP) or CLS(NCA) required.

3.     Masters Degree in Business or Laboratory Management preferred.

4.     Must be able to travel to STHS facilities in position
