Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Laboratory Operations Associate to support a growing laboratory operation during an exciting period of facility expansion. This opportunity has become available due to a team member taking a leave of absence while the laboratory continues to increase capacity and sample collections.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating laboratory operations, managing logistics, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring documentation compliance. The position is primarily operational, with approximately 80% focused on laboratory operations and logistics and 20% hands-on laboratory support.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities for laboratory samples, supplies, and materials.
  • Manage inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records to support laboratory operations.
  • Perform final quality reviews of documentation, records, and operational activities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain sample tracking systems and chain-of-custody documentation.
  • Support operational workflow across laboratory, quality, and operations teams.
  • Ensure shipping records, receiving logs, and inventory documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Utilize ERP systems, including SAP when applicable, to track inventory movements and operational data.
  • Assist with laboratory equipment operation and routine maintenance.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory storage areas to support increased operational capacity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to inventory control, logistics, and workflow efficiency.
  • Assist with basic laboratory procedures when needed to support daily operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in laboratory operations, logistics, inventory management, shipping and receiving, manufacturing operations, or a related environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and document control.
  • Ability to work effectively in a regulated environment where compliance and accuracy are critical.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience working within an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, including:
    • Pipetting
    • Media preparation
    • Specimen/sample processing and handling
    • Operating laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Experience supporting biotech, pharmaceutical, clinical, environmental, or manufacturing laboratory environments.
  • Understanding of GMP environments, SOPs, quality systems, and documentation best practices.
  • Vendor management experience is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
