The Community Health Centers is known throughout Vermont for providing compassionate, affordable, quality health care to all who need it regardless of financial status or life circumstance.


We are currently seeking a Part-time Medical Technologist (8 hours per day) to join our team as we expand our clinics to offer accessible care in our communities. This is a part-time position with eventual full-time opportunity.

  • Performs all responsibilities and duties of Medical Technologist. Provides laboratory services (laboratory testing and procedures), under the direct supervision of Laboratory Manager; includes functioning in the laboratory in accordance with CHC and CLIA laboratory standards and requirements. Assists the Laboratory Manager with operating the laboratory.
  • In addition to Medical Technologist responsibilities, the Point of Care Coordinator serves as the primary contact and responsible staff member for point of care testing, training, and compliance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
  • Two years’ experience in related field required. Laboratory experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, standards and tests.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to interact with other clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergencies.
  • Skill in phlebotomy.
  • Experience in, or ability to learn laboratory related computer system applications.
  • Skill in collecting laboratory data.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Knowledge of quality control, calibration, quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements, recognize, prevent and/or correct hazardous conditions.

Licensure, Certification or Other Requirements:

  • MLS or MLT certification strongly preferred.
  • Vermont driver’s license and vehicle.
  • BLS Certification Required.
