Job description

What You Will Do:
We are searching for a Laboratory Technician to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute on Aging. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Baltimore, MD.
  • Receive and log samples.
  • Maintain specimen integrity and verify accuracy of all information.
  • Familiarity in working with proteins.
  • Assign a unique lab sequence number to each specimen according to protocols; assess each specimen for condition liquid or frozen, quantity adequate or not adequate, and appearance normal, hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic.
  • Comply with laboratory SOPs, regulatory and safety guidelines and environmental policies and procedures; adhere to SOP and CAP regulations for data input in laboratory information systems, storage and retrieval for information.

What You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of ONE (1) year of experience in research or laboratory setting.
  • Experience working in Biorepository and familiar with biorepository practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "public trust"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their public trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred

What Would Be Nice To Have:
  • Previous experience with NIH preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $49,000.00-$81,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
