Sagis Diagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. JOB SUMMARY

The Associate Laboratory Integrations Solutions Engineer is part of the LIS team responsible for the continuous support, optimization, and enhancement of laboratory information systems and client interface integrations. This role serves as a client-facing technical resource focused on troubleshooting and interface support. The Associate Laboratory Integrations Solutions Engineer collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and clients to identify issues, implement solutions, and improve overall system user experience.

This position is also responsible for managing and resolving interface-related support tickets through the Zoho ticketing system, ensuring timely communication, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Integration Support & Implementation

  • Manage HL7/XML integration projects between laboratory information systems, integration vendors, client EHRs, and other connected platforms
  • Monitor and troubleshoot orders/results interfaces and system connectivity issues
  • Manage, track, and resolve interface problem tickets while maintaining accurate documentation and communication throughout the ticket lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate records of interface configurations, client environments, and integration specifications
  • Develop familiarity with client EHR/EMR platforms including eClinicalWorks, Modernizing Medicine, EZDERM, Nextech, and NextGen

Integration Configuration, Validation & Testing

  • Configure compendiums, file transfers, and orders/results platforms
  • Perform testing and validation of interfaces and workflows
  • Document validation results and assist with implementation and transition activities for laboratory systems and processes
  • Other related tasks and duties as assigned

Client-Facing Technical Support & Problem Solving

  • Collaborate with the LIS team, Sales, and Client Services to support seamless client onboarding and handoffs
  • Serve as a client-facing technical resource to troubleshoot and resolve interface, workflow, and system-related issues
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to identify root causes and deliver timely solutions
  • Provide exceptional customer service while managing multiple priorities, escalations, and support requests

Learning & Development

  • Actively develop knowledge of HL7 messaging standards, laboratory workflows, and EHR interoperability best practices
  • Shadow senior engineers during technical discovery calls, pre-sales engagements, and complex implementation projects
  • Complete assigned training on Sagis LIS platforms, integration tooling, and healthcare IT fundamentals

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of laboratory operations and workflows
  • Understanding of HL7 interfaces, orders/results, and workflows
  • Proficient in test compendium management and code mapping between systems
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of laboratory information system functionality
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and client-facing problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple support tickets, projects, and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Experience utilizing ticketing systems
  • Experience in project management systems
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
  • Quickly masters new concepts and processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

MINIMUM REQUIRED


•    Bachelor’s degree in health science, health informatics, information technology, engineering, or related field
•    Minimum 2–3 years of experience with HL7/XML integrations in a laboratory or healthcare IT environment
•    Experience supporting healthcare integrations or healthcare/laboratory applications
•    Prior experience in a client-facing support or solutions engineering role
