Position Overview

The General Supervisor will oversee day-to-day clinical chemistry operations and testing personnel while supporting instrument implementation, assay validation, SOP updates, quality initiatives, and compliance activities. This individual will work closely with laboratory leadership and technical consultants during the laboratory stand-up and growth phase.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations within the Clinical Chemistry laboratory
  • Oversee testing personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing
  • Support assay validations, instrument verification, and method implementation activities
  • Assist with SOP development, revisions, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure adherence to CLIA, COLA, CAP, and quality standards
  • Monitor QC, proficiency testing, and quality assurance metrics
  • Assist with staff training, competency assessments, and scheduling
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and workflow issues within the laboratory
  • Collaborate with laboratory leadership during operational scaling and workflow optimization
  • Support inspection readiness and ongoing regulatory compliance initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related scientific field
  • MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), or equivalent certification preferred
  • 4+ years of clinical laboratory experience in a high complexity laboratory environment
  • Prior supervisory, lead tech, or general supervisor experience preferred
  • Strong Clinical Chemistry experience required
  • Experience with Beckman Coulter AU-series analyzers strongly preferred (AU480/AU680)
  • Experience with assay validation, SOP development, and quality systems highly preferred
  • Knowledge of CLIA, COLA, CAP, and CMS laboratory regulations
  • Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary range: $90,000 – $115,000 annually
