Laboratory Technician


Location: Irvine, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monโ€“Fri, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)


Job Description

Henkel is seeking a hands-on Laboratory Technician to support routine testing, sample preparation, and data generation within its coatings and chemical applications lab. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent lab practices, and the ability to follow established procedures to ensure accurate, high-quality results.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine laboratory testing based on standard test methods.

  • Support Application Engineers by generating and summarizing test data.

  • Prepare and test coatings, cleaners, pretreatments, paints, and chemical mixtures.

  • Evaluate, collect, and record experimental data in lab notebooks and digital systems.

  • Enter data into MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including charts and tables.

  • Execute experiments following established laboratory protocols and safety procedures.

  • Test performance characteristics of coated substrates using established methods.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S methodologies.

  • Assist Senior Technicians or Chemists as needed with experiments and sample preparation.


Qualifications
  • 1โ€“3 years of hands-on laboratory experience (chemical, industrial, coatings, materials preferred).

  • Ability to operate lab equipment and perform lap testing; not afraid of hands-on equipment work.

  • Strong understanding of safe laboratory practices and adherence to protocols.

  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods while working in the lab.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Experience with 5S or lean lab organization preferred.

Education:

  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in a technical or scientific field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, etc.).
