Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool (Labor Pool) position in Albany, GA, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting with a 483-bed main campus and a 124-bed north campus
  • Med/Surg Labor Pool unit that floats to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
  • Common patient populations vary across Med/Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, and Acute Care
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with CNA support (generally 1:8, up to 1:10)
  • Telemetry monitoring available, with patients monitored across different units
  • Respiratory equipment includes BIPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger vents (used at HS only)
  • PICC line capability available on unit (no dedicated IV team)
  • RT and Pharmacy available 24/7
  • Day shift, 12-hour shifts starting at 06:45, on a Thursday–Sunday blocked schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • On-call for low census required
  • Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff
  • Floating required within the Labor Pool across assigned units
  • Charting via MEDITECH
  • 17-week contract
Requirements
  • Active RN license for Georgia (state-specific or compact) currently in hand
  • Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS also listed for reference depending on unit assignment
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment, OR 4 years of RN experience without travel experience
  • Med/Surg unit experience required
  • MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
  • Must be flexible with changing unit assignments during the shift
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
Additional Information
  • Float pool nurses rotate across Med/Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units depending on census and staffing needs
  • Floor-specific orientation is provided; orientation is 16 hours
  • Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
  • Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
  • RTO requests are only honored if included at the time of initial assignment confirmation
