Job description

Job Title: Marketing Intern
Position reports to: Marketing Manager
Job Classification: Intern / Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Marketing Intern supports Electra Grid Solutions' brand, services, and outreach by assisting with content creation, event coordination, and marketing analytics. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in social media, branding, graphic design, and marketing campaign management. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and other departments, the intern will play an active role in enhancing brand awareness, engaging audiences, and supporting business development initiatives in the energy sector.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, creating, and scheduling engaging content for social media platforms
  • Support the selection, ordering, and branding of promotional merchandise
  • Contribute to graphic design, photography, and videography projects
  • Help develop marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, banners, and proposals
  • Participate in planning and execution of trade shows, conferences, and community events
  • Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance using analytics tools
  • Update and maintain CRM systems and mailing lists
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure brand consistency across platforms
  • Assist with vendor coordination and marketing-related purchase orders

Requirements
Minimum:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; basic knowledge of Canva or similar design tools
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Preferred:
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a 2- or 4-year degree program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Familiarity with social media scheduling tools, CRM platforms, and analytics dashboards
  • Photography and/or videography experience

Working Conditions
  • Environment: Office setting with occasional travel to events, job sites, and conferences Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures or viewing a computer screen.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds (e.g., marketing materials, banners, displays)
  • Travel: Local and regional travel required; occasional overnight trips possible, sometimes on short notice
  • Technology Use: Frequent use of computers, smartphones, and camera equipment

Education and Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in marketing or related field preferred
  • Experience: No prior marketing experience required; relevant academic projects or internships a plus
