Job description

ACE Solutions, LLC. is expanding its survey department and is currently seeking a Survey Party Chief. This position will be leading a field survey crew performing boundary, topographical, ALTA, route, and construction surveys for public and private clients. You will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, performing field calculations, working with ACE staff and clients on these projects. Involvement in the office will include equipment maintenance, copying and filing survey data. Pay is competitive and dependent on experience.

Position Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of professional surveying practices and procedures;
  • State and Federal laws affecting land surveying and boundaries
  • Must be proficient with the operation and maintenance of GPS, Total Stations, Electronic & Automatic levels, Data Collectors and other various measuring instruments.
  • Perform control, boundary and construction calculations in the field.
  • Thoroughly inspect and check deliverables for accuracy and correctness; deliverables include field notes, electronic data collection files, computation sheets
  • Ability to communicate & coordinate with construction contractors, private party clients & office personnel.
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of field experience in boundary and construction surveying
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to travel out of town from time to time
  • L.S.I.T. preferred
  • Working knowledge of Topcon equipment preferred
  • Working knowledge of GPS equipment preferred
  • Able to work in all types of weather conditions
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Able to carry and operate survey equipment in rough terrain and perform labor intensive work
  • Able to check and verify correctness of work performed in the field.
