Job description

Contract Acute Care Registered Nurse – ICU & Labor & Delivery

Location: Kennewick, WA Contract Type: Full-Time Contract Residency Requirement: Candidates must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify.

Overview

We are seeking highly skilled ICU and Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses to support our partner facility in Kennewick, Washington. These contract roles are ideal for RNs who excel in high‑acuity environments and are committed to delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence‑based care. You'll join a collaborative clinical team dedicated to strong patient outcomes across critical care and obstetric units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to acute and complex patients in ICU or L&D units.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient conditions, and respond rapidly to changes.
  • Manage ventilators, critical drips, and advanced monitoring (ICU).
  • Support labor, delivery, postpartum care, and fetal monitoring (L&D).
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to unit protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Uphold all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
  • Must live within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for this contract role.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in ICU or L&D.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred).
  • Additional certifications depending on unit:
    • NRP for L&D
    • PALS or TNCC preferred for ICU
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialty certifications such as CCRN, RNC‑OB, or other acute care credentials.
  • Experience in high-volume or high-acuity units.
  • Ability to manage multiple patients and shifting priorities.
Schedule & Compensation
