American Traveler is seeking a travel Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Florence, South Carolina.

Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of recent critical care experience and SC RCP licensure.

Details
  • Hospital setting with 396 staffed beds
  • Works within the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) unit
  • Adult critical care, emergency department, pediatric critical care, and NICU patient populations
  • Patient ratio of 1:8
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:45p-7:15a
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Weekend requirement of every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • Must be able to float to all areas of the hospital, including labor and delivery
  • No floating to sister facilities required
  • Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • Recent critical care experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
  • RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and NBRC (RRT)
  • SC RCP (South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider) license required in hand at time of start - license required if applicable
  • Prior travel experience required
  • Skills include ventilator management, ABG interpretation, airway management, intubation/extubation assist, tracheostomy care, and medication delivery via nebulizer and MDI
  • Experience with high-risk delivery assistance and CPAP/BiPAP preferred
  • Experience with Nitric Oxide (iNO) and bronchoscopy care preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide respiratory care and neuro diagnostics support across multiple hospital units
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric respiratory care as needed
  • Perform ventilator management, weaning, and troubleshooting of high-pressure alarms
  • Administer a range of respiratory medications including bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and Nitric Oxide
  • Scrub color is Caribbean Blue
  • Free parking available
  • First-time travelers accepted for night shift position only
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application and is subject to facility approval
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • During hurricane season (June through November), travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
