Job description

MSD is looking for a Plumber General Laborer/Apprentice to join our team!

The Plumber General Laborer/Apprentice learns the core skills necessary to become a fully qualified Construction Plumbing Journeyman and along the way provides supplementary support to other Journeyman and Foreman.  The Plumber General Laborer/Apprentice supports the total quality effort by identifying and responding to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Previous education, formal or informal, in HVAC or Plumbing or Sheet Metal (preferred)
  • Previous experience with hand and/or power tools preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age prior to starting work
  • Unencumbered US Driver’s License required (for specific positions)
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required

Key Job Duties

  • Complete on-the-job training requirements
  • Complete classroom training requirements
  • Communicate with OJT leadership to ensure clear understanding of instructions and goals
  • Coordinate required study time with program instructors to facilitate completion of required assignments
  • Submit time/training cards to appropriate personnel
  • Demonstrate capability to perform level appropriate tasks and actions
  • Complete required courses of study (book learning) to advance to the next level
  • Monitor personal OJT hours to ensure effective training environment
  • Obtain required proficiency in subject/projects assigned
  • Make every reasonable effort to ensure safe practices and get employee home safely
