The ideal professional will bring strong full-scope human resources knowledge, organizational skills and initiative to work independently.

With over 150 dedicated employees and a state-of-the-art facility; Phenix delivers cutting-edge labeling and packaging solutions for food and beverage, beauty and personal care, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries nationwide. This position is on-site in Olathe, KS.

Position Summary

Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resources Manager collaborates closely with leaders across the organization to develop and retain a skilled workforce, promote employee engagement, support safety and wellness initiatives, and cultivate a culture of accountability, respect, continuous improvement, and organizational success. The Human Resources Manager leads and administers all aspects of the Company's human resource function, ensuring compliance with employment laws, supporting business objectives, and fostering a positive, high-performing workplace culture. This position oversees the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, programs, and practices, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, leave management, training and development, HR compliance, HRIS administration, and employee engagement.

The Human Resources Manager supervises a part-time HR Admin and serves as a strategic resource to leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, organizational development, workforce planning, performance improvement, and employment law compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing HR metrics and reporting, and continuously improving HR processes to support operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning by managing recruitment, onboarding, staffing, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
  • Ensure Employment Law Compliance by administering HR policies and programs while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Manage Employee Relations & Performance by coaching leaders, conducting investigations, resolving workplace issues, administering performance management processes, and supporting corrective action.
  • Administer Compensation, Benefits & Leave Programs including benefits administration, payroll support, FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, unemployment, and other employee leave programs.
  • Oversee HR Operations & HRIS by maintaining personnel records, administering the HRIS, preparing reports and metrics, protecting confidential information, and improving HR processes.
  • Develop Employees & Organizational Culture by coordinating training, employee communications, recognition programs, engagement initiatives, and leadership development.
  • Support Safety & Risk Management by partnering with leadership to promote workplace safety, regulatory compliance, wellness initiatives, and workers' compensation administration.
  • Partner with Leadership to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that support organizational objectives, employee engagement, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of human resource laws, compensation, organizational planning & development, employee relations, safety, recruitment, training, and preventative labor relations.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits, compensation, and wellness programs.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills to execute decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and maintain flexibility, and objectivity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, database management, record keeping and use of an HRIS.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively.
