Medical Laboratory Technician
About the Role
Behind every accurate diagnosis is a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician and that could be you! Under the guidance of the Evening Lab Supervisor and an experienced Medical Technologist, you'll perform a wide variety of diagnostic tests on blood, body fluids, and environmental samples. Your precision, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence will directly support physicians, nurses, and patients in receiving the answers they need.
What You'll Do
  • Process and analyze specimens with accuracy and efficiency, reporting results to the right people quickly.
  • Recognize and immediately communicate critical values to care teams and physicians.
  • Use your professional judgment to troubleshoot unusual cases and ensure specimen integrity.
  • Perform and document quality control checks daily, keeping equipment calibrated, accurate, and reliable.
  • Support lab operations by assisting with phlebotomy, specimen labeling, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Act as a technical resource, helping colleagues and training on new equipment or procedures.
  • Stay sharp by keeping up with OSHA, CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission standards, as well as continuing education.
  • Be part of ongoing quality improvement efforts and contribute to an environment where excellence is the standard.

What You Bring
  • Associate degree in chemical, biological, or medical laboratory science or technology required (ASCP certification accepted in lieu of degree).
  • At least one year of experience in all lab areas preferred, new grads from accredited Medical Lab Tech programs welcome!
  • ASCP certification preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both automated and manual lab methods.
  • Problem-solving skills, manual dexterity for venipuncture and equipment calibration, and the ability to think critically in varied situations.
  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to clearly communicate in English.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for accuracy, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.
