Job description

Salary Range: $70,310 - $82,100

Essential Job Functions:

The ideal candidate will have a strong critical thinking skills and troubleshooting experience in Windows 10 and Windows 11 maintenance, with some experience with Windows Server or RHEL desired.

Candidate must also be able to:

Install, troubleshoot and perform repairs on DoD computing equipment and workstations to include networked and stand-alone systems.

Maintain and administer closed-loop networks for patching and hardening lab systems.

Maintain and administer Virtual Machines running file servers and other services.

Solve users' routine problems with computers or applications software with front-facing customer support.

Perform routine incremental and full system backups across various platforms.

Provide direct and remote support to users for network and desktop hardware and software challenges.

Assist F/A-18E/F & EA-18G Laboratory users, diagnose IT problems, and recommend, develop, and implement solutions.

Manage and operate the Labs' communication and internal networks, including the development of software and database applications.

Install new software, administer security procedures, ensure system back-ups and monitor network performance.

Provide recommendations for Lab Systems Administration process improvements.

Exhibit technical and operational proficiency in IT duties.

Proactively implement projects and programs in the Labs IT environment.

Provide IT vulnerability patching and remediation.

Support Enterprise Services Team with joint system requirements for site network repairs or upgrades.

Perform test support functions and maintenance of the Secure Defense Research & Engineering Network platform.

Support fluid lab schedules across morning and evening shifts.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelors in a related field is required with 3 plus years of relevant experience. However, a combination of education and experience may also be considered for this position.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Obtain and maintain a COMSEC briefing and certification.

Experience with Microsoft operating systems. 7/10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/etc.

Ability to stand and be mobile for long durations of time, including kneeling and lifting up to 50-lbs independently.

Willingness to work morning, evening, and/or overnight shifts as needed.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Windows server environments and closed-loop networks or Domain Administration.

Experience with NESSUS/ACAS, or EvaluateSTIG.

Experience with OpenVMS; Debian, RedHat Enterprise, or other Linux environments; and/or Microsoft Server Operating Systems.

CompTIA Network+, Linux+, or CompTIA A+ certification is desired.

Required Certifications:

CompTIA Security+ (ce)

Windows Operating System Certification required within 6 months of start date.

Additional IT/IA certifications may be required per DoD Directive 8140
