Technology Transition Systems Engineer (SE5)
Salary: Up to $180K based on education and experience
Security Requirements: Active TS/SCI with FS Poly; CCA Authorized
Location: Columbia, MD
Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science,
information systems, engineering, or other related discipline plus at least 15 years of
systems engineering experience. A Master's Degree or PhD may be substituted for two
years of experience. A high school diploma or GED plus 19 years of systems engineering
experience would also be acceptable.
Certifications: None.
Job Description:
As Training Center / Lab Support Systems Engineer you will support
the operation and maintenance of all hardware and software in compliance with
established policies required by the customer for their production and training networks -
to include deriving and managing requirements to ensure compatibility with defined
architectures and compliance with customer standards; performing market studies; and
assisting in developing the system security plan.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
โ€ขExperience providing Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem
identification, diagnosis, and resolution; and providing support for implementation,
troubleshooting and maintaining IT systems. Senior level experience is required as
remote support is not authorized.
โ€ขSubject Matter Expert in 1 or more SE Process Areas; Approve delivery of SE work
product, and briefing Stakeholders on all technical aspects of their Project.
โ€ขAbility to plan and deliver engineering projects with unique/ complex aspects that
impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise.
โ€ขAbility to independently resolve important engineering issues requiring the use of
advanced technology.
โ€ขIndependently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a
project.
โ€ขBrief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.
โ€ขFive or more years' experience supporting programs and projects within this customer
space.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
โ€ขExperience in technical program/ project management/ project implementation highly
desired.
โ€ขExperience in defining an effort from mission outcomes/objectives to key tasks,
collaborating with others monitoring and preparing out-reports.
โ€ขExperience in writing and/or managing the development of functional requirements and
other related SE documentation.
โ€ขExcellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
โ€ขExperience in development/ implementation of SE processes and procedures.
โ€ขExperience with Confluence / ServiceNow (SNOW) / JIRA managing Systems
Engineering Projects.
โ€ขExperience in working in a dynamic changing environment.
โ€ขExperience working with multiple projects simultaneously.
