Job Summary

This is a part-time position reporting to the Nursing Department Head. The Nursing Lab/Simulation Coordinator provides coordinating support to faculty and academic support to students specifically in the nursing skills and simulation laboratories. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting with skills/simulation evaluations, providing skills remediation for students, participating in preparation of self-study/annual/other reports, and other duties consistent with this role.

Job Duties

  • Assist faculty in preparing, developing, implementing and evaluating, evidence-based simulation scenarios.
  • Coordinates schedule for student access across the curriculum and facilitates remediation of clinical skills.
  • Tutor students to connect skills acquisition relevant to professional practice
  • Provide opportunities for students to access and practice skills in clinical lab
  • Maintain lab equipment and supplies
  • Maintains internal/external partnerships and promotes positive image of program.
  • Maintains records of simulations as needed.
  • Contributes to the function of the department - participates in department management and governance through department committee participation, and functions as part of the team, participates in orientations, pinning, and other areas.
  • Community Building - help in community events supporting both faculty and students and supports partnership with external entities.
  • Other duties as directed by the Department Head.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse License
  • Professional practice as a registered nurse in clinical setting
  • Knowledge/practice in simulation learning
  • General clinical lab experience and computer skills.
  • Relevant clinical practice within the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
