Join our dedicated team in Unity Lab Services as a Lab Support Specialist, where we provide seamless support tailored to our customers' unique needs. We’re seeking an organized individual to handle lab support operations, including glasswash, garment management, and gas/dry ice management. You'll be the primary point of contact for lab personnel, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all support activities.  

A day in the Life: 

  • Perform specific tasks associated with labware operations, including precision cleaning, inventory management, quality control, and sterilization through autoclaving  

  • Handle gas cylinder order placements and possess knowledge of gas meters, with the ability to safely manage encounters with HAZMAT materials. 

  • Collect used labware/materials from various labs and ensure dedicated points of use are fully restocked  

  • Handle gas, garment, and dry ice management, ensuring a consistent supply and safe storage of these materials. 

  • Partner with clients to understand their labware and material needs, providing timely support and ensuring stock availability  

  • Follow well-defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & Work Instructions 

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, fulfill contractual obligations, and assist in tracking business metrics. 

  • May perform other duties as assigned by management. 

Keys to Success: 

Education 

High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Experience 

2+ years' experience with material handling, customer facing, lab environment or related experience is required. 

Good x Practice (GxP) environment or laboratory setting experience preferred 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams). 

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 

Physical Requirements / Work Environment  

  • The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline.  

  • Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required.  

  • The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs.  

  • Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments.  

  • Overtime work may also be necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $18.54–$27.81.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
