MSI-Viking Gage is seeking an experienced PC-DMIS CMM Programmer to join our Contract Inspection Lab in Canton, Michigan. This position is responsible for both programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect precision-manufactured components for customers across a variety of industries, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating and optimizing PC-DMIS programs, interpreting GD&T requirements, and performing dimensional inspections using advanced measurement equipment. This is a primarily lab-based position with minimal travel requirements.

This role combines hands-on CMM operation with advanced PC-DMIS programming in a fast-paced contract inspection environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, modify, and execute CMM programs using PC-DMIS software
  • Set up and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs)
  • Inspect aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial components to customer specifications
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements
  • Perform dimensional inspections and analyze measurement results
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs for efficiency and accuracy
  • Document inspection results and prepare customer reports
  • Collaborate with quality, engineering, and inspection personnel to ensure measurement accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and measurement documentation
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Contract Inspection Lab

Requirements

  • Required
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS software
    • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and blueprint interpretation
    • Experience working with CAD models and technical drawings
    • Ability to independently create and troubleshoot CMM programs
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
