Department: Lab Special Tests

Work Schedule: Full Time, 60.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)  

Shift: Nights 7 on 7 off rotation

Pay: 19.10 - 24.83 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:
Prepares specimens for stat and routine testing/analysis or transport to external laboratory.

Responsibilities:

  • Receives, accessions, and tracks specimens in the department's information system(s).
  • Verifies accuracy of collected specimens against orders. Prepares specimens for testing or shipment to external laboratory.
  • Disposes of specimens according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains specimen handling and testing supplies as necessary to ensure an adequate inventory. Performs clerical tasks as necessary or assigned, including answering calls and entering data.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
