Job description

Title: Lab Technician
Location: Wheatfield / Niagara Falls, NY 14304
Assignment: March 23, 2026 – September 30, 2026
Schedule: Day Shift | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $25.00/hr
Work Environment: 100% Onsite

Position Overview:
Saint-Gobain's Ceramics division is seeking a Lab Technician to support quality testing and laboratory operations at the Wheatfield facility. This role is responsible for performing tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.

The Lab Technician will work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to analyze samples, record results, and support manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products

  • Log and track samples and maintain accurate testing records

  • Conduct hardness testing, surface area analysis, particle size testing, and other material evaluations

  • Prepare samples for testing and imaging using equipment such as SEM and other laboratory instruments

  • Analyze results and communicate findings to production and quality teams

  • Maintain laboratory equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, and support instrument calibration

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized lab environment

  • Assist with special testing projects and support continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Knowledge of laboratory practices and safe chemical handling

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • 1–2 years of laboratory or quality testing experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
