Location: Detroit, MI Shift: 1st Shift Pay: $18.00/hr

Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is hiring a Lab Technician in Detroit, MI for a metal processing facility. This role involves performing daily tensile testing, completing quality inspections, releasing raw and finished materials, and ensuring products meet company standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable using precision measuring tools, and experienced working in a quality or manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Lab Technician, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Material Testing: Perform daily tensile testing on raw and finished materials.
  • Quality Inspections: Release finished material by performing quality checks including diameter verification, tensile verification, and surface examination.
  • Raw Material Review: Release raw material samples by performing all applicable quality checks and inspections.
  • Precision Measurement: Utilize gauges such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Documentation: Record and maintain quality and testing information using Microsoft Excel.
Additional duties may include supporting team projects and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel
  • Previous manufacturing, quality, or lab experience preferred
  • Experience with tensile testing preferred
  • Experience with titrations is a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
