Job Title: Operations Manager – Dental Laboratory

Salary: 90K base with bonus structure that is uncapped

Location: Burroughs of New York


We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead both the production and administrative functions of our dental laboratory. This role goes beyond traditional supervision—we’re looking for a strategic leader who understands that a dental lab operates as a dynamic system combining advanced technology, skilled craftsmanship, and precise logistics.

The ideal candidate will connect technical expertise with operational efficiency, while fostering a culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of dental technicians, CAD/CAM specialists, and administrative staff 
  • Establish and manage performance metrics that prioritize quality, efficiency, and accountability 
  • Build a collaborative, high-trust culture that encourages constructive feedback and professional development 
  • Must be a forward-thinking leader- real interest in building and moving forward with the dental lab

Operational Management

  • Analyze and optimize the full case workflow—from digital intake through final quality control—to reduce remakes and improve turnaround times 
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and material inventory to ensure efficiency and scalability during demand fluctuations 
  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as 3D printing, AI-assisted design, and advanced milling systems 

Quality & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with regulatory and safety standards 
  • Maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure consistent, high-level output and minimize remake rates 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in dental laboratory operations, including at least 4 years in a leadership role 
  • Proven ability to manage and develop teams of 20+ employees 
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM systems (e.g., exocad, 3Shape) and lab management software (e.g., evident, DLPlus, Labtrac) 
  • (CDT certification preferred) 
  • Solid understanding of financial management, including P&L, labor cost control, and supply chain operations
